My year - In review

lindajparks1

What a year it has been. I began the year retiring from my company of 22 years. I owned and operated a high-end custom cabinets shop in Austin Texas. After 22 years, it was time for a permanent change. While I had been painting in my spare time and traveling to art shows in the Texas area- it was time for that to become more full time. I traveled a lot this year, both for these art shows and with my husband the Race Car driver- He races a Porsche all over the US.  We pull a 54-foot trailer with race cars and off we go, we did 14 races this year and 5 art shows.

I had been thinking about opening a Gallery ever since moving to Granbury in 2019- but then there was Covid. I have been looking for a place to open ever since. And this year it dawned on me- I don’t have to be downtown (where I had been focusing my search for a building).

And then in Oct I saw a for lease sign off Fall Creek Hwy and the rest, as they say, is history – or I hope it will be.. My gallery has been open since Nov 24- exactly one month this Sunday. And so far, I am not disappointed in my decision. It has been a lot of work, but a ton of fun,  I enjoy meeting new artists daily and enjoy meeting new people that come through the door every week.

Thank you to all who have visited the Heron House Gallery and I look forward to meeting all the rest of you to come.
